- Mabel (nee Enright) McCarthy, 95, of Wilmette and former eighty-five-year resident of Glencoe, died May 30 at Manor Care in Wilmette. Mrs. McCarthy was born Oct. 5, 1907 in Glencoe. Survivors include three sons, Dr. Laurence L. (Jeri) of Glenview, Dennis J. (Sharon) of Wilmette, and Stephen J. (Jane) McCarthy of Montana; a daughter, Mary Helen (John) Breen of Northfield; a sister, Helen V. Enright; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence McCarthy; two sisters, Alice (the late Lowell) McCarthy, and Ruth (the late Carl) Janensch; and three brothers, James (Chi), Rev. John S. "Jack" and Thomas (Bettyann) Enright. A funeral Mass was celebrated on June 4 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Wilmette. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chicago.
