Carlton R. Dart, 67, of 706 Greenleaf avenue, Wilmette, a member of the Chicago sanitary district engineering staff since 1901, died Sunday, June 23. Mr. Dart was born at Lansing, Mich., where he began his career as assistant engineer of that city. Later he entered the railroad service and then came to Chicago. He was noted as a bridge designer, having planned thirteen of the bascule bridges over the Chicago river, including the State street and Dearborn street spans and the famous butterfly dam on the drainage canal at Lockport.

Since the death of his wife, Mr. Dart had made his home with two sisters-in-law, the Misses Margaret and Jane Weinland. A brother, James, also survives him.

The funeral services were held from his late residence Tuesday afternoon, June 25, at 1 o'clock. Burial took place at Mt. Greenwood cemetery.
