- Retired Wilmette Police Chief Arthur H. Hawkinson, 60, of 1217 Dartmouth Sr., Wilmette, died Monday at Evanston Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Becker of Downers Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Shurtleff of Wheaton and Mrs. Ethel Thelen of Venice, Fla. [Florida]; three brothers, Nathaniel of Lake Bluff and Stanley and Walter, both of Wilmette. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
