- Wilmette Baseball Association's Pinto League held opening day at Roemer Park on Saturday. The Wilmette Baseball Association was founded in 1951 and led by John Bordes according to a history of the league by Cory M. Franklin. Games were originally played at Gillson Park. Roemer Park was originally owned by Lawrence Roemer and his uncle, Simon.
