- Mrs. Harper died Sept. 26 [1975] at the Presbyterian Home in Evanston at the age of 102. She and husband, Robb Harper, arrived in Wilmette in 1906 and built a home at 719 Park Av. In 1908 her husband became superintendent of Wilmette schools and served until his retirement on July 1, 1942. Harper School at Dartmouth and Greenwood Avs. is named after him. Mrs. Harper helped organize Wilmette's first Parent-Teacher Assn. and served as its first president. Born in Shelby, Ohio, she was reared in the town of Loudonville in southern Ohio. She and her husband married in the summer of 1903 and moved to Superior, Wis. [Wisconsin]. Mr. Harper died Feb. 18, 1970. Mrs. Harper is survived by a son, Robert A., of Wilmette; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. The Rev. William Dunkle of Trinity Church conducted the funeral Sept. 29 in the Elliott Chapel of the Presbyterian Home. Burial was in Memorial Park.
