Typhoid fever fatal to former Wilmette youth [Alvah Van Dyke]

Funeral services for Alvah Van Dyke, for several years a resident of Wilmette, were held Tuesday from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Van Dyke, at 535 North Central court, Indianapolis, Ind. Mr. Van Dyke, who has made his home in recent years in Greenfield, Ind., died Sunday following a siege of typhoid fever. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Leola Van Dyke, and a small son, Alvah, Jr.
Mr. Van Dyke was 35 years of age and had lived in Wilmette since the age of twelve until a few years ago. He attended New Trier High school and Northwestern university, where he was graduated from the law school.
Mrs. Edward Fatch, Mrs. A. J. Taylor, and Mrs. J. G. Wray, old neighbors of the Van Dyke family, went to Indianapolis to attend the funeral services Tuesday.- Featured Link
