Morton T. Culver passes away after two months illness

Morton Taylor Culver, prominent Chicago attorney and well known resident of Glencoe, where for a number of years he was associated with the official life of that village, died Monday at the Evanston hospital after an illness of two months. Mr. Culver was 56 years old. He had served as police magistrate, village attorney and village president. He was also assistant attorney general of Illinois, under Edward J. Brundage.
As an attorney, Mr. Culver was prominent in numerous special assessment cases, in which he specialized.
About three years ago he represented the property owners along Sheridan road in Glencoe when the paving of that thoroughfare was brought to court. At the time of his death he was handling a case for the property owners in the vicinity of Broadway and Lawrence avenues, Chicago, which dealt with an important construction project on Broadway.
Mr. Culver was a member of the Illinois National Guard from 1887-1896. He was a member of the Hamilton club and Illinois State and American Bar associations, past master of A. O. Fay lodge 676, A. F. and A. M., and a member of Evanston chapter 144, R. A. M., Oriental Consistory, Medinah Temple, Sons of the American Revolution, and many other clubs.
He is survived by his widow, Marion H. Culver, and two children, Reginald C. and Dorothy.
Funeral services were Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Graceland cemetery chapel, with Masonic burial.- Featured Link
