William H. Johnson dies suddenly in California

Word was received from the coast Tuesday, March 18, of the sudden death in Hollywood, Cal., of William H. Johnson, 716 Greenwood Avenue, Glencoe, who had been touring the southwest in company with his wife.

Mr. Johnson was a well known attorney and the father of the members of Gilbert D. Johnson and Brother, prominent Chicago and north shore realtors.

Funeral arrangements had not been made at the time of this writing.

Mr. Johnson, who was one of the best loved residents of Glencoe was born in Lawton, Mich., October 31, 1856, and came to Chicago in 1879. He had been a member of the Michigan bar shortly before and was admitted to the Illinois bar soon after his arrival in Illinois.

Since 1912 he has practiced law alone, maintaining offices in the Stock Exchange building, Chicago. He was a member of the Law, Hamilton and Skokie clubs.

The remains will be brought east for burial, it is announced.
