In 1922 Anton Brothers, Thomas and John, moved to the "no man's land" area in Wilmette on Sheridan Rd. There, they built The Cottage, a restaurant and night club. In 1940, they leased a small greenhouse and expanded it into the Dairy Bar, making ice cream and serving light lunches. Mr. and Mrs. Anton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1976.
