- George J. Murphy Jr., 68, of Wilmette, died Nov. 9 at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. Mr. Murphy, was born in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kerwin Murphy. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Davies of Glencoe and Margaret Jane Murphy of Chicago; a son, George J. (Allison) Murphy III of Lake Forest; two brothers, Francis T. Murphy of Dwight and Robert E. Murphy of Winnetka; and four grandchildren, George and Stephen Murphy and William and Robb Davies. A funeral Mass for Mr. Murphy was celebrated Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Rev. Edward F. Harnett officiating. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Evanston.
