- Carl H. Becker, 90, of Waukegan died Dec. 3 at Lake Forest Hospital. Mr. Becker was born Oct. 17, 1906, in Unterowisheim, Germany. Mr. Becker settled in Glencoe and on May 15, 1935 he became a U.S. citizen. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Neuwirth Becker, whom he married in 1935 in Glencoe; his sons, Frank (Martha) Becker of Libertyville and William (Nancy) Becker of Gurnee; his daughter, Shirley (Daniel) Haley of Lindenhurst; his sister, Lena Brecht of Germany; his grandchildren, Leslie and Todd Becker, Susan (Rick) Powell, John (Ami) Becker, Christopher and Brian Haley; and his great-grandchildren, Corrin and Shannon Powell. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert, two sisters, Hilda Knoll and Louise Daeschner; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Haley. Funeral services and interment were Friday in Millburn, Ill.
