- Mary Lorraine Carroll, 88, a longtime resident of Wilmette, died July 26 at home. Mrs. Caroll was born in Hagerstown, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Carroll; a son, James P. Carroll; and a sister Meryl Beard. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Hanson of San Rafael, Calif., Eileen C. Meyer of Glenview and Madeleine (Anthony) Mills of Wilmette; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one sister, Pauline Fearnow of Ashland, Va. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday 29 [sic] at St. Joseph Church, Wilmette, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
