- Joseph D. Gathercoal, 81, died Sept. 16 in Florida. Mr. Gathercoal had lived in Boynton Beach, Fla. for the past 26 years. Mr. Gathercoal owned and operated Gathercoal Kitchens in Wilmette. Virginia Gathercoal, his wife, preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons, Thomas and Richard; a brother, Paul Gathercoal of Salem. Ore.; a sister Florence Warner of Arkansas; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Private funeral services were held in Florida on Sept. 20.
