- Wilmette native Glen W. (Hap) Gathercoal, 76, died March 26 [1980] at Heart of the Valley Center in Corvallis, Ore., where he had lived since 1944. He was born in Wilmette to Jesse and Bertha Hall Gathercoal. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mildred; two sons, Donald of Philomath, Ore.[Oregon], and Michael of Mesa, Ariz. [Arizona]; a daughter, Mary Grossnick of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister, Doris Palmer of Claremont, Cal.[California] ; and a brother, Bert of Rogers, Ark. [Arkansas].
