- Former Wilmette physician George G. Fischer, 95, died August 16 in Chicago. He was born Nov. 8, 1898 near Kenesaw, Neb. His wife of 65 years, Jean Bechtel Fischer, preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons, Stanton P. (Marie) of Houston, Texas, and George A. (Nancy) Fischer of Indian Wells, Calif.; a brother, Edwin B. Fischer of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Fischer, Elizabeth Wallace, Anne Fisher [sic] McCormack, Suzanne Fischer Wendorf, Marie Fischer Mack, Scott and Jeffrey Fischer, and ten great-grandchildren.
