- Funeral services were held Monday for Anna M. Meier, 87, who died Jan. 14 in Glenbrook Hospital. Mrs. Meier owned and operated Meier's tavern, 235 Lake Ave., Glenview, with her husband, Frank, from 1936-1962. She was a charter member and first president of the Peter Huerter American Legion Post # 46 Auxiliary in Wilmette. Surviving Mrs. Meier in addition to her husband is a sister, Margaret Shanahan, Mrs. Meier's brother, Peter Huerter, preceded her in death. A funeral mass was said at St. Joseph Church. Entombment was in All Saints Mausoleum.
