Survivors include his wife, Louise Happ; two daughters, Jain Simmons, Evanston, and Joanne, Northbrook; four sons, Jack, Cary and Jerry, of Salem, Wisconsin, and Jim of McHenry; two sisters, Mary Butz and Ann Schmerschneider, of Northbrook; and four grandchildren.
