- L. Arlene Schroeder, 92, died June 2 at her home in La Jolla, California. Mrs. Schroeder, who was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, had previously lived in Wilmette for more than 50 years. Her husband William F. Schroeder, died last year. Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Kenneth) Pettigrew of La Jolla and Janet (Thomas) Brawner of Gurnee; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine, Roger and Craig Pettigrew and David and Michael Brawner; and a great-grandson, Michael Brawner. Entombment was at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Skokie.
