- Gladys B. Schmitt of Wilmette died Aug. 9 at Old Orchard Manor in Skokie. She was 86, and a native of Chicago. She was married to the late Ronald Schmitt. Mrs. Schmitt is survived by her daughter, Gloria Lewis of Jupiter, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her son, Robert Schmitt, who was president of Walgreens from 1967 to 1977, died before his mother.
