- Wilmette resident Willard F. Schmidt, 47, died Aug. 19 in Evanston, a victim of brain cancer. Survivors include his wife, Susan Dunten Schmidt; two daughters, Elizabeth and Anne; a son, Michael, and three brothers, James, John and Robert. Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
