- C. Ted Scherzer, a 36-year resident of Lake Zurich, died March 7 in his home. He was 66. Funeral Mass was said Tuesday in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Burial took place in Windridge Cemetery. Mr. Scherzer was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Crystal Lake. Surviving family members include his wife, Grace "Dolly"; and two sons, Gordon and George. His mother, Margaret of Wilmette, a brother, Fred (Marion) and a niece, Denise also survive. His father, George F. Scherzer preceded him in death.
