- Helena H. Smith, 90, died Tuesday at Evanston Hospital. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, F. A. Cushing Smith, who died in 1981. Survivors include her sons, F. Cushing and Bruce Cushing, both of Wilmette; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Rothe of Pompano Beach, Fla. She was the former president of the Wilmette Library Board, former program chairman of the Wilmette Woman's Club and long-time member of the Wilmette Congregational Church. She was born in Neenah, Wis.
