- Catherine Cecilia Braun Whelan died April 19 at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines. She was 84. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. Mrs. Whelan was born Dec. 26, 1905 in Gross Point. She was married to the late William J. Whelan. She is survived by her sons, William J. Whelan and John Patrick Whelan; her daughter, Mary Sanaghan; and seven grandchildren.
