- A former Wilmette resident, her husband and their son died Nov. 30 in a private airplane crash in Florida. Joann Aten Young, 47, formerly of Wilmette; her husband, Joseph P. Young, also 47; and their son, Eric Young, 21, died in a wooded rural area in Dixie County near the Gulf of Mexico. Survivors include the a [sic] daughter, Jennifer Young Watkins of Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. Young's parents, Rex and Jean Aten of Wilmette, her brother and sister, Gary Lee Aten of Fairfield, Calif., and Susan Drussel of Ramsey, N.J.; Mr. Young's brother and sisters, Ray Young of Fort Worth, Tex., Gloria Ricks of Mexico City, Cathy Lott of Lakeland, Fla., Kelly Stelling of Folslon, Calif.
