An improvement in the condition of James Goetz, 19, of 989 Cherry street, Winnetka, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident in which another youth and a girl were killed last week, was reported late Tuesday afternoon. Goetz is in the Evanston hospital. The accident, which resulted in the deaths of Myrtle Holloway, 14 years old, 330 Oxford Road, Kenilworth, and of John Edson McEldowney, 19, of 620 Abbotsford road, Kenilworth, occurred early Tuesday morning of last week at the Winnetka avenue crossing of the Chicago and Northwestern railway in Winnetka. The car in which Miss Holloway and young McEldowney were riding with the Goetz boy was struck by a northbround express and milk train. The inquest into the accident was postponed until Wednesday, April 24, at the Winnetka Village hall pending the recovery of the injured youth. Miss Holloway, a former student at New Trier High School who transferred to the Frances Shimer school, Mt. Carroll, Ill., at the beginning of this semester, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Holloway, and a sister, Helen. The funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Church of the Holy Comforter, Kenilworth. McEldowney, who was a junior at New Trier, is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. McEldowney, and three sisters, one of whom, Mrs. John G. Wittbold, lives in Winnetka. The services were held last Thursday morning in the Graceland Cemetery chapel. The Goetz boy is a senior at the high school.
