Pardoe, Charles M. (Died)
- Full Text
Rev. George P. Magill, of the Wilmette Presbyterian church, went to Minneapolis, Minn., last week to officiate at the funeral services for Charles M. Pardoe, and his daughter, Mrs. Flossie Higus, two victims of the recent disaster at Chippewa Falls, Wis., when the rear coach on a Soo line train plunged 60 feet from a bridge into the Chippewa river, killing eight persons.
Mr. Pardoe and his daughter were close friends of the Magills. The two families had adjacent cottages at a northern lake for many years, and it was the custom of the two men to go into the wilds of northern Wisconsin and Minnesota together on a hunting trip every season. Rev. Magill was called on to read services at the funeral of Mrs. Pardoe last spring and these later deaths completely wipe out the family.- Featured Link
