- The Rev. Julius H. Gockel, 69, retired minister of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wilmette, died Nov. 3 in his home at 310 Central Av., Wilmette. The Rev. Mr. Gockel was pastor of St. John's from 1933 to 1963. Surviving are his widow, Esther M.; four daughters, Miss Ruth Gockel of Evanston, Mrs. Margaret Sallman of New York City, Mrs. Eunice Rapp of Arlington Heights, and Mrs. Miriam Reinhold of Chicago; two sons, Robert, of Rye, N.Y., and George, of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister; two brothers; and 14 grandchildren. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
