- Small businesses are having problems cashing checks that are presented for payment of small purchases. A spokesperson for these businesses is critical of companies that pay their employees by check. The small businesses can't keep a large sum of money in cash because it is dangerous. The spokesperson suggests that either companies pay employees with cash or that banks are open Sat. evenings so workers can cash their checks there.
