Lake shore physicians sent a thrill of hope and life into the hearts of the old bachelors hereabouts Monday when they challenged the statement of Dr. Frederick Hoffman that any one who married after thirty did so at their peril. It is a well known fact that while the old maid becomes content with her cat and her poodle dog, that the old bachelor never really gives up the idea of matrimony. With him no axiom is quite so dear as the one which declares that "while ther's life ther's hope." That is the reason why as he trips down the street, he seems surrounded by an atmosphere of lightheartedness. He is so elegant, so debonair, so all to the good, and appreciating this himself to the full, he is sure some maiden fair will pluck him almost any day. To him Dr. Hoffman is iconoclast, an anarchist, a dawplucker.
