- Editor comments briefly on topics of the day. Carelessness promotes the growth of the mosquito and fly population; Residents should use the summer months for a change in activities not just in idleness to refresh themselves. Summer school provides both rest and inspiration in new activities; Jitney are useful as inexpensive transportation to places not reached by regular public transportation; Governor Slaton has shown courage by commuting the sentence of Leo Frank, accused of the death of Mary Phagan, in the face of the public demand for Frank's death; A church in Peoria has a sign inviting people inside announcing that it is always open. The Editor approves of this approach in Protestant churches which he feels should emulate Catholic churches involvement in the everyday lives of parishioners.
