Miss Blanche Day, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Day, is home from Vassar.
Mr. and Mrs. Forbes Cadenhead and their son George leave for a trip to California at the close of the school session.
Mrs. Charles L. Byron, who is in the Presbyterian hospital, is recovering to the satisfaction of her family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Chickering with their children, Tuesday morning, leave town to spend the summer in Lakeside, Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. John A. Rogers of east Willow street, take their family next week, to Long Lake, Illinois, where they spend the summer months.
Miss Ostrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Ostrom, will go to Berkeley, California, next week, to take a summer course at Berkeley university.
The Sunday school of Christ Church will have its annual frolic in Skokie park, tomorrow afternoon. There will be the usual program of field sports and games and if the weather frowns an adjournment will be made to the Parish house.
Mrs. Lyman Baird started on Tuesday for a charming trip that will last all summer. Washington is the first place to be visited and from there Mrs. Baird goes to the Berkshires. Later plans are not yet completed but the warm months will be spent whereever there is promised the most comfort and entertainment.
Mr. Jesse Smith of Highland Park gave a talk on the preservation of wild flowers, charmingly illustrated with colored photographs, to the children of the first grades in the public schools, in the gymnasium of Community house, Tuesday afternoon. The bright attentive faces of the children followed the speaker with closest attention and each child received a flower on leaving the hall.
An exhibition of the work done by the pupils of the Church school this last winter will be held in the gymnasium of the Community House, tomorrow afternoon, from 3:30 to 5:30. The exhibit will be open Sunday morning, so that those also who were unable to come in the afternoon may avail themselves of the opportunity. The planting of the ivy by the senior members of the church school will take place at 10:30 in the morning outside Community house, and the graduation exercises with the children's chorus are to be held in the church at the regular eleven o'clock services.- Featured Link
