The fruit store on Central avenue has recently installed a new soda fountain.

Mrs. John M. Tuttle, 222 Woodbine avenue, returned Sunday from an extended visit in New York.

Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold H. Palenske of 226 Tenth street announce the birth of a son on Saturday, May 26.

Mrs. Dr. crippen of Waterloo, Iowa, is the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. W.C. Shrtleff, 815 Lake Ave.

Rev. E.P. Wheeler of Aurora, Ill., was the weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Newey, 436 Lake avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Barrett, 214 Fifth street, left Sunday evening for a four weeks' visit in Cleveland, Ohio, and in New York City.

Dr. and Mrs. Veach have closed their home at 913 Forest avenue, and are now at their summer home, located in Chautauqua, N.Y.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Melville Brown, 738 Eleventh street, had as their guest over Sunday Rev. W.H. Walker of Talladega college, Alabama.

Mrs. James H. Smurr, 421 Eighth street will return tomorrow, from Springfield, Illinois, where she was called by the death of her mother.

The many friends of Miss Margaret Millen, 1128 Greenleaf avenue, will be pleased to learn of her recovery from an operation for appendicitis.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Morley of 1204 Ashland avenue, returned Sunday from an extended trirp through Canada, and to Muskegon, Michigan.

Rev. S.T. Kidder of Madison, Wisconsin, and Rev. John H. Carr of Castle Park, Michigan, were the guests over Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. F.L.Joy, 812 Central avenue.

Miss Kathleen Jordan, 505 Hill street, and Miss Marion Tetlow of Evanston, returned Monday from a ten days' trip to Toronto, Canada, and Niagara Falls.

Mrs. Fredrick Cain and Miss Jessica Cain of 907 Central Avenue, have gone to Ocean Park, California, where they will be the guests of Mrs. Cain's mother, Dr. Jessie Forrester.

Mr. William C. Shurtleff, 815 Lake avenue, left Tuesday evening for Clear Lake and Waterloo, Iowa, where a convention of the Royal Arcanum is being held. He will return Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Searle Hendee, associate editor of Popular Mechanics, have returned from Cornelia, Georgia, where they were married on May 6. They are now established in a bungalow in Wilmette.

Mr. and Mrs. William C. Shurtleff and daughter, Miss Bernicie Shurtleff, returned to their home at 815 Lake avenue, last Thursday morning after a three weeks' trip in the east, stopping in Washington, D.C., Old Point Comfort, Va., Atlantic City and New York City.

Last Friday an all-day meeting of the Illinois Bank association was held at the Chicago Golf Club, located at Wheaton, Illinois. Representatives from the north shore towns were Messrs. John Schaefer, Wilmette State Exchange Bank; M.K. Meyer and Henry R. Hale, Winnetka; F.A. Andrews, Glencoe, and Messrs. Erskin and Vercoe of Highland Park.
