- Commonwealth Edison company is rarely thanked for the use of the pulmotor on persons suffering from shocks, being overcome by gas, or those who have been nearly drowned. The pulmotor was sent in hopes of aiding Clarence Passmore, who was drowned in the sanitary canal. The company answers all calls within a radius of fifty miles from Chicago and no charge is made. The company bought four pulmotors to be used for their own workmen who had received severe electrical shocks.
