- Evanston officials have been constructing new concrete roads. This began after road commissioners of Wayne County Michigan gave a positive report on the use of that material for highways. Concrete roads are becoming popular throughout Illinois because they are economical and permanent. The only drawback to these roads is that they crack; however the cracks are easily fixed. The Wayne County commissioners did make a careful study of the number of cracks that occured on their concrete roads. A study of traffic was taken on roads leading out of Detroit. It showed that the average number of vehicles passing over the roads. The article lists statistics for: a single horse, a team, an automobile runabout, an automobile touring care, motor trucks and motocycles.
