Longtime Wilmette resident Robert A. Cleland, died at home on April 11 at the age of 89. Mr. Cleland was born in 1920 in St. Paul, Minn. His parents were Spencer Boyd Cleland and Hazel (nee Boss) Cleland.


He married Jean Katherine Rolfing, the daughter of a Reuben Rolfing, and his wife, Trena, of Wilmette.

The wedding was held in the Winnetka Congregational Church on April 7, 1945.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Jean (Rolfing); six children (David of Chicago, Stuart of Evanston, Carter of Chicago, Phillip of Glenview, Trena of California and Roger of Evanston); and three grandchildren. Extensive information on this life and career.
