Locals eager to see renovations succeed

Notes: A fundraising effort for Roemer Park's renovation is underway with the Little League's opening day set for Saturday. Fans want to keep the old-fashioned character of the field in handling the needed renovation. Comments by volunteer groundskeeper, Andy Carpenter. The Wilmette Basebnall Association has already raised $250,000 of the $600,000 needed for improved drainage, a scoreboard, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, a storage shed, improved concession stands.
