William Welsh is convalescent from a two weeks' illness. Mrs. Alvin Butz, 500 Central avenue, has returned from Mudlavis, Ind. Mrs. Harry S. Thomas entertained a Bridge in her home 723 Forest avenue, Thursday. Miss Edna Stillwell has returned to her home in Ottamwa, Ia., after a visit with friends here. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Riddiford, [damaged] Greenwood avenue, are enjoying a visit in Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. William Smith and daugher, [damaged] Erman, are visiting in Texas. They will be gone several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Seyfort will leave Wilmette in a short time for Indianapolis, where they will reside. Mrs. F. M. Bowes and son have returned to their home at 1033 Greenwood avenue after a visit in St. Louis. Mrs. B. G. Calloway and daugher have returned to their home at 920 Linden avenue after a visit in Florida. Miss Elizabeth McCue enjoyed a visit with University of Illinois sorority girls at Champaign over Sunday. Mrs. F. D. Day, 810 Oakwood avenue, has retuned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. J. D. Jones, in Kenosha, Wis. David K. Tone, 1100 Elmwood avenue, was called to Seattle, Wash. last week on account of the serious illness of his brother. Mrs. Frank C. Nason and Mrs. Wallace Kerr and daughter departed Sunday for California, where they will spend several weeks. Stanley Pierce and Thomas Brown, students at the University of Illinois, resumed their studies Monday after a short visit with relatives here. Dean Walter Sumner of Chicago gave an interesting address before the Commonwealth call of the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. Mrs. A. H. Thompson, mother of Mrs. Harry W. Mons, 921 Oakwood avenue, has returned to Wilmette after an extended visit in Oklahoma. Mrs. B. F. Brown entertained a member of friends at the Ouilmette Country club Wednesday evening in honor of her husband's birthday anniversary. An enjoyable card party was given members of the Wilmette Catholic in the home of Mrs. Herbert A. Morin, 635 1111 street, Saturday night. Mrs. Harry Cumberland, 119 Fifth street, entertained twelve childern at [damaged] in her home Monday for her son, John Gordon Cumberland, who celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary on that date. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman M. Drake, 933 [damaged] avenue, and Mrs. Charles N. [damaged] departed Thursday for a trip to the south. They will visit in Little Rock, New Orleans and other southern cities of interest. Mrs. Max W. Zabel returned Wednesday to her home, 610 Greenleaf avenue from Milwaukee, where she underwent an operation in a hospital in that city a few weeks ago. She has been gone from Wilmette for a month. B. W. McCullough, 923 Elmwood avenue, is in Washington, D. C. attending the annual meeting of the National Chamber of Commerce of which he is one of the councillors. He is on the program for an address on "National Trade Organization". Mrs. Howard Field, 913 Central avenue, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. [damaged] departed Thursday for St. Petersburg, Fla., where they will spend several weeks. They plan to visit in Chattanooga, Ten., Memphis and other southern cities en route to Florida. A masked ball will be given at the Ouilmette Country club Saturday evening. Every guest is expected to appear in costume and masked. A children's Valentine party, led by Miss Dorothy Collier, will be hald at the club at 2:20 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The regular monthly luncheon of the Ladies' Aid society of the Wilmette Congregational Church will be held in the church Friday at 12 o'clock. Miss Harriet [damaged], head of the Northwestern settlement in Chicago, will give an address on "Moving Pictures". The Woman's Aid society of the Wilmette Baptist church met in the home of Mrs. Thomas A. Copeland, 607 Ashland avenue, Monday afternoon. Luncheon was served at 12:30 o'clock. During the afternoon, Mrs. [damaged] Metzgar gave an address on her missionary work conducted in Africa.
