- New Trier will hold its sixth annual Literary Festival tomorrow. The day long event gives seniors enrolled in writing courses the chance to participate in workshops with some of the top writers in the country.
This year's lineup will includes: Cartoonist and graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown; former National Champion Slam poet Regie Gibson; poet and author Kevin Gonzalez; alt-country musicians The Handsome Family; award-winning sports journalist Melissa Isaacson; anthologist and former New Trier teacher Julie West Johnson; columnist and author Ben Joravsky; Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic Blair Kamin; screenwriter and actor Tim Kazurinsky; deputy managing editor of the Chicago Tribune Peter Kendall; founding artistic director of Silk Road Theatre Project Jamil Khoury; award-winning investigative business journalist and author Alec Klein; Chicago Tribune music critic Greg Kot; screenwriter, director, actor and producer Harold Ramis; creator of FOUND Magazine Davy Rothbart,; middle grade and young adult author Gary Schmidt; and best-selling author Christopher Steiner.
New Trier's Club S.A.F.E. (Students Advocating for Fair Education) will host a clothing drive through the first week of November. - Date of Publication
