New Baptist Pastor Assumes His Duties in Wilmette

Rev. B. Frank Taber, the new pastor of the Wilmette Baptist church, is now in charge of the services of this church and has created a favorable impression among the members of that congregation. He is an earnest worker and has started out with the assurance of support from his hundreds of members.
Rev. Taber is a New Yorker, and a graduate of Cornell University. He entered the Rochester Theological Seminary, but after a short stay in this institution left it to study law. Later his health failed and he went to Manhattan, Kansas. In that Kansas town he became pastor of a Baptist church that had not prospered but after five years he had rejuvenated and strengthened it. After leaving Manhattan, Rev. Taber went to Marshall, Michigan. Later he moved to Saginaw, where he remained for twelve years. Then he accepted the pastorate of the Baptist church in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he has been for the last nine years [unclear]. In accepting the call to the Wilmette church, Rev. Taber realizes the possibilities are unlimited to develop the suburban church in one of the leading churches of that denomination on the north shore. The Battle Creek church, which he just left, has a membership of 735 persons and a Bible class for men comprised of more than 125 members.
Rev. and Mrs. Taber have four children, two sons who are married, and a son and daughter at home. They will reside at 1046 [unclear] Greenwood Avenue, Wilmette.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Rev. Taber found time for outside work in church societies and other organizations in Michigan. He was honored by being church officer in the following organization: Second vice-president of the Michigan State Baptist Convention, chairman state board for Home and Foreign Missions; member of state executive board of Foreign Missions; and a member of the Ann Arbor guild [unclear], whose work was confined to the students at the State University.
