- All St. Francis Xavier New School Families may attend a Parent School Orientation Meeting Aug. 20.
This year's St. Francis Xavier Back-to-School Barbecue will be held Aug. 23 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Ninth and Linden. This SFX Family Barbecue will also be the "Showcase Kick-off Party" to give all a chance to hear all about the great raffles and showcase surprises in store for this year's "Showcase St. Francis" to be held Oct. 3.
Students are expected to be in uniform Aug. 24. School will be closed for Labor Day, Sept. 7 and classes will resume on Sept. 8.
School families and students in need of information about school supplies, back to school news, and uniform information for the 2009-2010 school year may check the school Web site at www.sfx-school.org.
All school and parish families and friends of St. Francis Xavier School are asked to consider participating in the SFX Scrip Tuition Rebate and Fund-raising Program when purchasing Dennis School Uniforms. To purchase cards, see Marge Kaup or Mary Carol Oberlin in the school office.
All school families and students should have received their 2009-2010 SFX School Handbook and other important information and forms for the new school year in the mail.
Parents of students interested in participating in this year's athletic programs are asked to make sure that they have turned in their registration form and fees for the coming year. Parents with questions or interest in helping out with the athletic program may contact Chuck Rometty, athletic director
A new program for the coming school year open to all school students, lunch will be served to all participating students beginning Sept. 8 by Chef Fredy Cuisine. Contact Home School Organization Lunch Program volunteer chairs Kristan Kelly or Kim Langill with questions.
St. Francis Xavier School and Parish will feature its Children's Choir programs again this academic year under the instruction of Sarah Smith.
St. Francis Xavier's "Moms and Tots" playtime will return from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Maple Park (weather permitting) for their first informal get-together of the new school year.
People are asked to save all of their newspapers, catalogs, magazines and junk mail and drop them off in the school's recycling bin located in the school parking lot.
St. Francis Xavier School continues to participate in the Box Tops for Education fund-raiser.
The St. Francis Xavier School "picture day" with Life Touch is scheduled to be held during the day Sept. 2.
St. Francis' "Junior High Forum" will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 2; "Back to School" dinner will be held Sept. 17; Preschool Parents' Party will be held Sept. 19; and the annual "Parish Life Fair and Fun Run" with breakfast and Mass will be held Sept. 20. - Date of Publication
