Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah, at 3220 Big Tree Lane in Wilmette, hosts the following events: n The Film Festival features the comedy "Used People" at 8 p.m. Jan. 10. A discussion will follow the screening, and refreshments will be served. The cost is $10 for members, $12 for nonmembers. For more information call (847) 256-1213. n The Men's Club will hold a breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 11. Guest speakers are congregants Carmel Chiswick and Joe Weber, who will discuss the general business outlook for 2009 and also focus on timely Jewish themes. For more information call (847) 256-1213. n The adult-education committee presents a six-week program titled "Judaism in a Time-Scarce Environment" at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, from Jan. 13-Feb. 17. The six sessions will be taught by Barry R. Chiswick and Carmel U. Chiswick, international scholars who oversee the economics department at the University of Illinois.
