School embraces monthly ways to praise

- Highcrest Middle School staff have a monthly ceremony to recognize students for showing responsibility and making positive contributions to the school community.
Traits considered are service, responsibility, compassion, tolerance, integrity, self-awareness and leadership.
Among the sixth-grade students honored were, in alphabetical order, Amy Androw, Catherine Baubonis, Steven Childs, James Doan, Henry LeVee and Merit Vahtra. Other sixth grade honorees were Laura Zajac, Dylan Casey, Keelin Frank, Andrew Hauser, Sara Rutherford, Annie Sheehan, Peter Kirie, Maria Mantice, Daniel Chen and Carter Burch.
Fifth-grade students honored in December included: Sarah Africk, Julia Bergquist, Emma Cavalier, Alison Denby, Kathryn Evenson, Celia Frei and Olivia Grant. The other students were: Paul-Boris Kertzman, Nicholas Madden, Rebecca Napoli, Sean O'Connor, Natasha Powell, Laine Stern, Adelle Turner, Meilan Van Cleave and William D'Angelo.
