- Concerned for the future of his 1909 house at 507 Lake Avenue, Wilmette, Walter Sobel asked that it be listed recently on Wilmette's local landmark list. The designation will require village permission to tear down the home or alter its outside appearance. He is also seeking to assemble a group of volunteers to help tie the house to Chicago's commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Burnham Plan next year, and to begin planning fort he long-term preservation of the Baker House
