- Former Wilmette resident William Bryant Holden was killed in a crash of a light plane in the mountains near Guadalajara, Mexico, during the third week of May. Confirmation of his death wasn't revealed until June 4 when climbers reached the site of the crash. A second passenger of the plane and the pilot of the Cessna 210 also died in the crash. Mr. Holden, 32, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Holden, former long-time residents of Wilmette, who are now living in Tuscon, Ariz. He is also survived by his wife, Grace, and a younger brother, Charles.
