- Viola Shearer Wells, wife of Harry I. Wells, vice president emeritus of Northwestern University, 83, died May 6 in Evanston Hospital. She lived at 1508 Hinman Av. She was married in 1915. Mrs. Wells is survived also by a daughter, Virginia Craig of Winnetka; three sons, David H. and Richard G. of Milwaukee; and Harry S. Wells of Santa Barbara, Cal.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
