Miss Lucia Benfield returned Monday from Kankakee, Illinois. At luncheon [unclear] entertained the Misses Marion and Helen Nicholson and Ethel Tidworth [?] of Riverside, Illinois, at her home [unclear] Greenleaf avenue.

Mrs. Hubert C. Ambler gave a very delightful house-party on last Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20, at her home, 1015 Wilmette Avenue, for her son, Chester, and her daughter, Ellenor [unclear], the occasion being the former's birthday. On Saturday the guests were the Misses Gladys Ambler; Marion McKenna, Marguerite Thomas and Mildred Sahlint, of La Grange, Ill., and Messrs. Harold Bell of Austin, Illinois, Joseph Wright of River Forest, Bernard Oaks of Maywood and Headen Hubble of Wilmette. The young ladies in the party remained another night, and were among the guests at dinner the next day. Other guests were Harry Richter, Leonard Markle [unclear] and Reader Hubble of Wilmette and Harold Bell of Austin.

Last Friday evening the parlors of the Wilmete Presbyterian church were the scene of a very delightful informal reception, tendered to Dr. and Mrs. James Martin Wilson. A Victrola furnished the music and excellent refreshments were served.

Mrs. Milton E. Barker entertained at luncheon and bridge yesterday afternoon at her home, 710 Park avenue, for Miss Gladys Mars of Kenilworth, whose marriage to Elmer Becker of Chicago will take place October 14.

Another pretty wedding is to be solemnized this month, when Miss Caroline Lusted, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Lusted, 1212 Elmwood avenue, will become the bride of Ralph Collins Walters of Chicago on Oct. 12. Miss Marjorie Lusted will attend her sister as maid of honor, and the Misses Martha and Ethel Lusted, two other sisters, will be bridesmaids. Little Elizabeth Fox and Adele Stearn will be the flower girls. Mr. Roy Patterson of Des Moines, Iowa, will serve Mr. Walters as Best Man and the ushers will be Dr. Julius Lackner and Mr. Thomas Boyle of Chicago.

Mrs. Carl Granniz and Miss Marion Dietz entertained at cards yesterday afternoon in honor of Miss Caroline Lusted, at the home of Miss Dietz, 1005 Greenleaf avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Moore will give a small informal dancing party at home, 325 Sheridan road, tomorrow evening.

Mr. Harry Bridwell, 827 Elmwood avenue, will entertain the young people of the Baptist church this evening.

About fifty friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus E. White, 1030 Greenwood avenue, Tuesday night, the occasion being the fifteenth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William White. The home was very prettily decorated in yellow and green. Congratulations were received from every state in New England except Maine. A very delightful program was rendered by the Misses Olive and Muriel LaChapelle, and Mr. Ernest LaChapelle, three relatives of the Whites. Rev Thomas Keene Gale of the Wilmette Methodist Church, read a poem dedicated to Mr. White by a former pastor of Mr. and Mrs. White, and also a letter. Rev. B. F. Taber of the Baptist church led in prayer. The out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Apps and Mrs. Lachapelle of Evanston, Mrs. A. LaChapelle and family of Waukegan, and Mr. and Mrs. Dee A. Stoker of Kenilworth. Mr. and Mrs. White were the recipients of a number of beautiful things, among them an autograph book in which all of the guests inscribed their names.

Mrs. Albert S. Webster entertained at cards today at her home, 502 [unclear] Washington avenue, in honor of her guests, Mrs. J. E. Webster and Miss Webster of Galesburg, Illinois. There were five tables.

Mrs. Charles S. McCoy will entertain at bridge this afternoon at her home, 730 Ashland avenue. Ther ewill be five tables

Mrs. J. Hugh Foster entertained at bridge Wednesday afternon at her home, 8921 Greenleaf avenue. There were seven tables.

There will be an informal dance at the Ouilmette Country club tomorrow evening.
