The Winnetka Historical Society has an exhibit of bridal gowns dating back to the 1800s. Comments by Curator of costumes Elizabeth Carlson. One gown was forst worn in 1881 by Katherine Orr Lee and has passed through two more generations of her family, being worn by her granddaughter Kathy Kingery in 1949 and by Kingey's niece Betsy Joppe in 1982
