- Nicholas Parrillo, a former resident of the North Shore and a graduate of New Trier Township High School, will join the Yale Law School faculty next month as associate professor of law.
Kenneth L. Block of Wilmette was presented with the Founders Medal from Elmhurst College during a president's holiday dinner last December for his significant impact on the college.
Roger Weissberg of Wilmette, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was chosen by Edutopia magazine for its "Daring Dozen," which honors those who are "reshaping the future of education." Weissberg, professor of psychology and education and president of the UIC-based Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, was profiled in the magazine's April issue.
Mary Anne Peruchini of Wilmette was among 32 docents honored at a docent recognition ceremony April 30 at the Field Museum.
David J. Lies of Wilmette was inducted into Fenwick Hall School's Hall of Fame at a ceremony and luncheon April 4 at the Oak Park Country Club. Lies is president of Remanco Inc.
Northwestern University's Chad A. Mirkin of Wilmette, one of the world's leaders in the research and application of nanotechnology, has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense as an inaugural fellow in the department's new National Security Science and Engineering Faculty Fellows Program.
