Notes
Plaza Del Lago, 80 years old this summer, is one of the nation's first true shopping centers. It was first completed in 1928 as Spanish Court in unincorporated "No Man's Land." Patrick Leary of the Wilmette Historical Museum comments on the history of the shopping area which contained the Teatro del Lago movie house and the Miralago nightclub. The village annexed the site in 1942. Joe Moss bought the Plaza del Lago in 1970.
