The Woman's club was transformed into a veritable garden yesterday for the musical given by Mrs. C. C. Mitchell, Mrs. E. L. Fitz-Randolph, and Mrs. Frank L. Robbins. Flower boxes were arranged under the windows, large hanging baskets were suspended from the ceiling, and the walls in the entrace and the auditorium were banked with palms and potted plants. The stage contained a pretty pergola, covered with green, and large baskets of pink roses. The mantelpiece in the club room was banked with green, in front of which stood a large refreshment table, decorated in pink, and presided over by Mesdames Rexford Bellamy, Edwin Thurman, Charles Gibson and Hayes McKinney. Assisting in receiving the guests were Mesdames Charles A. Wanner, Robert Cochran, H. J. Wolf, Robert Smith, and Louis Springer.
A number of young women acted as ushers and assisted in passing the refreshments, among them Misses Margaret and Norma McMillen, Marcelle Lavelle, Margaret Stattman, Hazel Pierson, Margaret Hall, Helen Gemmil, Marion Perkins, Vera Lobanoff, and Margaret Scheidenhelm. A program was given by Mrs. Minnie Fish Griffin, accompanied by Mr. L. R. Hammond, pianist and composer, consisting of some fifteen selections, among them an aria from "Louise," two German songs and others. This was a very beautiful and successful entertainment and was enjoyed by several hundred North Shore ladies. The Woman's club was transformed into a veritable garden yesterday for the musical given by Mrs. C.
